3 Ways to Keep Boredom Away this Summer

We all look forward to summer. It’s the three months of the year where we do not have to worry about school. It can also mean three months of sitting on the couch with absolutely nothing to do. That used to be me. I’d get out of the house every now and then but that wasn’t cutting it for me. Heading into this summer, I couldn’t be more excited to get out and enjoy everyday.

I’m always bothering my friends to get them to do something. Even if it is as simple as a lunch run to Panchero’s for a tasty burrito, it is great to have people to enjoy the summer with. My friends and I are always looking for more activities that we can do to keep us out of the house during summer.

We play all sorts of different sports and we go eat at different food joints all summer long. I’m always pushing them to go watch sporting events. It’s a good thing that a night at a Bridgeport Bluefish game is extremely affordable.

The Happy Gilmore approach definitely didn’t help me improve at first but golfing is still a very fun and relaxing time.

Every summer, I try to pick up at least one new activity to try. Last summer, I picked up golf. I was a terrible golfer when I first started, but now, I’m starting to improve.

This summer, I am picking up geocaching. It’s an outdoor activity that’s kind of like a modern day treasure hunt. The idea is to find hidden containers by using GPS.  For more information on geocaching, visit  https://www.geocaching.com/play

It is a great activity to keep active outdoors.

I know that I mentioned that this is a time to get away from school, but some of you may not want to get away. If you are interested in keeping your brain working, and picking up some extra credits, take a few summer classes. Housatonic offers plenty of courses that you can take to advance your studies.

Even if you don’t do any of these things, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy the summer.
