From Future, French Montana, to Migo’s “Pipe it Up”, Dj Keemy displayed his artistic talent at Housatonic’s 2015 Winter Glow Bash. A Biochemistry student said, “Because of finals and bad days, I feel like events can help and be stress free.”

The party, which was brought together by the Student Senate, was a refresher for nearly a hundred college students on Wednesday night. Taylor Watts, who came to enjoy this event on her break from the semester, says “ I feel like this event gives students time to interact with students they don’t know.”

The event took place on the second floor in Beacon Hall’s Events Center. Amine Wasfi, a Computer Information Systems major, moved to Connecticut from Morocco three years ago. He stared at the students on the dance floor dancing to Silento “Watch Me Whip/Nae Nae”. He smiled and said, “The music, seeing people dance, it’s cool. It’s very different.  They all know the same dance”.

According to Wasfi, “Watch Me Whip/Nae Nae” was fairly new to him. He never seen so many students dancing to the same song and doing the same dance. As 2 Chainz would say “at the same d*** time”!

While this three-hour bash lasted throughout the night, students had the opportunity to climb inside a snowball and have their pictures taken by Kenny Barzee, the photographer for the night. The decorative, colorful Christmas decorations such as fireplace wallpapers and inflatable reindeers were generously provided by Simplified Entertainment.

Student Senator Emmanuel F. Joacin sat behind the ornament table as students stopped by the table to create their very own creative ornaments. The smell of the pizza and chicken blew me right near an empty table of plates. Multiple empty pizza boxes were placed under the food table.  It seems like everyone enjoyed the night and free food.

Computer Science major Daniel Ruiz said, “It’s pretty good. I like the music. I wish they had more vegetables because I’m a vegetarian.” Then he chuckled.

A warm cup of either hot chocolate or coffee was provided with a top of whip cream, for everyone who attended.

Each student had the opportunity to dance the night away and interact with students from all over campus. Because of finals and other personal problems that students may face, this event created a positive and upbeat atmosphere for everyone to just relax and take a break from all hardships.

My very own memorable gift from the night! Exciting, huh?
