Volunteers are needed for Housatonic’s “Day of Service”on Friday, April 1st from 8 a.m.-8 p.m.at the Webster Bank Arena to support the success of Bridgeport youth in middle school, high school, and beyond.

Students can choose a four-hour time slot to help with activities such as: traffic direction, guest registration, workshop assistance, and more.

This year’s Day of Service was set up by Housatonic Director of Student Activities, Kelly Hope.

“It’s a way for HCC students to give back and an opportunity to network with local employers,” Hope says.

Each semester she finds an organization in need. This year it is Bridgeport Prospers Cradle to Career program.

In partnership with United Way of Coastal County, the BPCTC program has set up a support system in Bridgeport to service children for success from birth to adulthood.

Well-known motivational speaker Dr. Adolph Brown will share his experience growing up in surroundings similar to Bridgeport. His words will inspire local youth to become future leaders.

Volunteers can sign up online at: https://goo.gl/sufDu4 and must do so by March 30.
