It’s that time of year again: applying for financial aid for the upcoming school year. I know what you’re thinking: how can I apply for FAFSA during this pandemic?

The Financial Aid team is conducting ways on how to assist students who are having issues completing their forms.

Last year, they made it easier by automatically inserting your tax return information, so that way anyone who is applying doesn’t have to go crazy going to the IRS building or rummaging through old paperwork to find that specific tax return.

Omar Livingston, head of HCC Financial Aid Department, has been super busy trying to process aid and helping out students during this online season.
“Last week we created a Google account for our office, so we can send text messages and make calls to students, so we did not have to continue blocking our cell phone and home numbers when we made calls to students. When students call this Google voice number back, they can leave us a message and get our office email information if they want to email us directly,” he said.

With this new way of navigating, It’ll allow so many students, new and old, to be able to reach out for help. If you are seeking financial aid and have any questions, you can email Livingston and the rest of his team at [email protected] or call them at 203-322-5047. Be sure that when you contact them to leave your name, Banner ID# and contact information.

Don’t worry, help is on the way!
