Raise your hand if you’ve worried at least twice a day on what you’re doing with your life at school since this quarantine started. If you raised your hand to any of those statements there is a lot of thinking going on in your head and you’ve possibly become frustrated with your thoughts. To keep yourself well balanced and secure with your mind, Housatonic’s Counseling and Wellness center is right there to help.

Since this pandemic, it’s been hard to differentiate whether mental health or physical health is at risk. According to Lisa Slade, Director of the Counseling and Wellness Center, “It is important for us in this time to stay connected to one another and to take good care of ourselves.”

The Counseling and Wellness Center is that extra ear, guide, and assistance you will need to be content during the ending of this Spring semester.

Helping in every aspect of interpersonal growth and advising, this center will help reduce your anxiety and fear over problems that have existed since this outbreak.

“Counseling services are free of charge and our counselors utilize a goal-centered, brief- therapeutic approach to counseling,” Slade said. “In cases of crisis or if discovered that a higher level of care is necessary, our counselors will coordinate referrals for more immediate or specialized long-term care in the community.”

If you are experiencing any anxiety, depression, or something troubling your mental health, you can contact them on Mondays through Fridays at 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. You can set up a meeting with one of the counselors through emailing them at [email protected] or calling 203-332-5285.
