Summer Sun? No Thank You!

It’s almost summer time, but who needs to go out in that hot sun, when you can turn on the AC and play some awesome video games? As any seasoned gamer would know, big releases for the most part don’t come out in the summer.

However, here are just a few games that will keep you out of the bad, bad sun.

Destiny is a great game to pick up for the summer. It is an online only, first-person shooter developed by Bungie and published by Activision. It first released back in 2014, and in 2015, an expansion for the game called The Taken King was released.

Destiny is also a loot-based game, where you are always chasing the next best gear or weapon. Make sure you have some buddies to play with, because it’s kind of boring if you go in alone.

What gamers love most about this game are the raids and strikes.

Strikes are three-person cooperative missions, where players go through a structured and crafted mission that ends in a boss battle. Raids are six-person missions where you have to be on your A-Game! Raids are very difficult and complex, requiring communication with your fellow gamers. Without out that, you will certainly lose.

With an update just released this April and another expansion on the way, this the best time to find your Destiny.

Fallout 4 is another great game to play over the summer time. Fallout 4 is an action role-playing developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks.

It is set in a post-apocalyptic Boston in the year 2287, years after a nuclear war, in which the player character emerges from an underground bunker known as Vault 111.

The game can be experienced in both third-person and first-person perspectives.

The gameplay consists of leveling up your character and doing quests. The game starters after the main character’s son is kidnapped and his significant other is killed for a unknown reason. Your choices in this game matter. Such as: Will you help the wasteland that you once known as Boston? Or will you take back what’s yours by force?

Fallout 4 has hundreds of hours of gameplay that can keep you busy for a long long time. With DLC, or Downloadable Content, on the way it’s going to make an already long game even longer.

Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is another to pick up over the summer drought. Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a dark fantasy game set in a open-world and is another setting where player choices matter. It’s developed by CD Projekt RED and published by Warner Bros. Interactive.

This is an action RPG, Role Playing Game, in which you play as Geralt of Rivia in search for Ciri who’s being hunted by the Wild Hunt for her powers.

Geralt is a “Witcher” who was trained to hunt beasts, provided the Contract on them is fair enough. One of Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s expansion packs released last year: Hearts Of Stone, sends Geralt off on another adventure dealing with a mysterious man known as the Man of Glass. Another expansion pack titled Blood and Wine is set to be released later this year.

Now, if you must go out in that unforgiving sun, never fear handhelds are here!

Fire Emblem Fates is one of those games you should carry with you all the time. Fire Emblem Fates is a tactical role-playing video game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 3DS system.

The game begins when the player creates their avatar and decides whether they want a male or female character. After this you can choose between three difficulty modes Normal, Hard and Lunatic. You then choose between Classic, Casual or Phoenix mode.

“Classic mode” is  when your character dies they stay dead, in “casual mode” when your character is defeated they will return in the next battle. Lastly, in “phoenix mode” your character will “respawn” during your next turn if they lose the battle.

Battle takes place on a grid based battlefield where you choose how to command your units. I don’t want to spoil the story so I won’t go into much detail, but I well say that it reminds me a lot of the Game of Thrones series… well, a PG version of Game of Thrones anyway.

This are just a few of the games that will keep you out the sun and will let you have a great time to boot.
