Housatonic Community College Foundation Participates in Fairfield County Giving Day
From the HCC Foundation…
With a goal of helping low-income students to open doors through education, the Housatonic Community College Foundation will participate in Fairfield County’s Giving Day on February 28. As a regional leader in higher education, workforce development, and community engagement, HCC is assisted by the Foundation, which provides student scholarships, student emergency assistance, child care assistance for parents enrolled at Housatonic, program enhancements and support of the Housatonic Museum of Art.
Hosted by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, with champion sponsor Bank of America, Giving Day inspires and empowers our region to raise as much money as possible for local nonprofit organizations in just 24 hours through online donations. This collective impact takes place on February 28, 2019.
The decision to participate in Fairfield County’s Giving Day is driven by the Foundation’s goal of empowering students to reach their full potential. Giving Day support will provide funding for scholarships and aid that will create a meaningful difference in students’ lives, at times determining whether they will enroll in classes or attend college at all.
“Scholarships provide a pathway for low-income, high-achieving students to attend college, leading to better prospects for earnings and employment,” said Dr. Paul Broadie, Housatonic Community College President. “Donating to organizations like the Housatonic Community College Foundation will have lasting impact and ripple effects for our entire community.”
Making a donation of any amount will make a tremendous difference. Please visit https://www.fcgives.org/organizations/housatonic-community-college-foundation on Thursday, February 28 to make a tax-deductible contribution.
Founded in 1990 by a team of business and arts leaders from the greater Bridgeport community, the Housatonic Community College Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that solicits, secures and manages contributions from the private sector through individuals, corporations and foundations for the benefit of HCC. The HCC Foundation distributes resources in the form of full and partial scholarships to students with proven academic performance and demonstrated financial need.
