50 Years of Killin’ It
The HCC Museum of Art’s 50th anniversary is coming up, and the Housatonic community is throwing a fun, nautical event to celebrate. Museum Director Robin Zella is bringing the artistic gems of our museum into public light at a murder-mystery fundraiser.
On Friday September 29, all are invited to this cocktail-party event to support the Housatonic Museum of Art. Taking place in Uncle Buck’s at the Bass Pro Shop, the underwater world will come to life at this killer event.
According to Zella, the HCC museum has a fundraising event every year, and this one is looking like it’s going to be a night to treasure.
Called “Murder Amongst the Mateys,” this fundraiser is staying true to the 2017 theme of the museum, which encapsulates pirate life and underwater marvels.

This cocktail event is going to be a blast, taking place in a highly populated Bridgeport business, giving plenty of exposure to the cause.
Admission is $50 per person and all the funds raised will go toward the art museum on campus.
Even Museum Director Zella is looking forward to this event. “We got the bowling alley open for the public at the fundraiser,” Zella said. “What goes together better than bowling and cocktails?”
This unique event begins at 7:30 PM and runs until 10 PM and is promised to be a swashbuckling good time.
Even if students cannot attend, raising money for our museum is always an option with the donation box outside of the museum doors.
The HCC museum is one of the most significant art displays at any community college in the country, and keeping it alive is very important to the Bridgeport community’s artistic culture.
